Course notes
The same iconic 90km Vasaloppet course from Sälen to Mora, but skied in free technique through the Swedish night. Two-person teams must stay within 20 minutes of each other. The same seven checkpoints provide warmth and refueling. The darkness transforms familiar terrain into an entirely different challenge.

Pacing and fueling
Distance is only a proxy for duration. Choose the outline that matches your event, then adjust it to your tested pace, conditions, and organizer support.
Very long effort
90km (team of 2)
Pacing
Keep the opening well below the effort that feels available, manage climbs consistently, and protect technique before chasing places late.
Fueling outline
Build a sustained, tested fueling plan around expected duration. Carry redundancy and confirm every organizer feed before relying on it.
Long-distance effort
45km (solo)
Pacing
Ski the first section conservatively, pace climbs by repeatable effort, and preserve technique for the final third.
Fueling outline
Use an early, repeatable fueling rhythm based on your tested duration plan. Know what each feed station offers and carry a familiar fallback.
